All of our test prep tutors are selected and trained by our founder and president, Chris Falcinelli. They are of course highly qualified in the expected ways: test savvy, well educated, superbly skilled at understanding and communicating both the technical skills and the mindset necessary to succeed in the testing environment. They are great testers and great teachers of testing, and they must be both of those things in order to work here.

Just as important, however, is that our tutors are good and caring people. To be a truly effective tutor, one must really care about the well-being of the student and must internalize the student’s goals. There is no end to the number of people who can show a student what to do on a particular problem, or point out what’s wrong with an essay, but the great tutors are the ones who go the extra mile to engage with and understand their students. It is our goal at Focus that each and every one of our tutors has the innate empathy to complement and augment his or her teaching skills.

We offer test prep for SAT, ACT, Subject Tests, AP, ISEE and SSAT, and academic assistance in Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, History, English/Writing, Spanish, French and Latin.
